U.S. senators John Kerry and Gordon Smith have secured an attachment to the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief that would lift the nation’s ban on travel and immigration for HIV-positive people, the Human Rights Campaign announced Monday. The Senate Committee on Foreign Relations is expected to consider the legislation this week. “The time is long overdue to repeal this unjust and sweeping policy that deems HIV-positive individuals inadmissible to the United States,” Human Rights Campaign president Joe Solmonese said in a press release. “This law emerged out of fear and stigma, and there remains no public health rationale for treating HIV more harshly than other communicable diseases.” The government bans HIV-positive foreign nationals, students, and tourists from entering the U.S.

Yeah! The sooner the better America scraps this highly hypocritical, discriminatory & stupid ban on HIV+ people. It's just a reflection of America's presumptuousness bordering on arrogance against other people. It seems to have been forgotten that other people too may demand for a refusal of entry of those HIV+Americans into their country.Or is it assumed that the rest of the world cannot afford to take any measure against America?Or even if it does the victims would be those eternally poor "African Americans"who are largely assumed to be the main victims of HIV by the mainstream "white America?"In whatever way viewed,it exposes the very crude nature of that nation which professes to be champion of human rights.

I am sad to hear what happened to this young lady but happy to hear how she has turned a tragedy into triumph. This is a great program she has put together and we should all support her efforts. That is exactly why we have our organization to support infants that are born of situations such as this and are now abandoned and left behind when they lose a parent to Aids. Aids is attacking our men and women so it is my desire to see more organizations really focusing on the men as well as they are the carriers Aids as well, and unfortunately in most cases are pursuers and controllers of sex in the sex game.

It is unfair to forbid infected people to enter the country. Everybody has brain - not to contaminate other people and to practice safe sex.
